Central Ohio Crime Stoppers (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website at centralohiocrimestoppers.org. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and protecting the anonymity of tipsters is central to our mission.
Anonymous tips are never traced
Tips are submitted through the independent P3 Tips platform, by phone, or by text. The P3 system is designed so that your identity, phone number, and IP address are not recorded or shared with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers or law enforcement. We never ask for your name and we cannot identify you. Please do not include personally identifying information in a tip unless you choose to.
Information we collect on this website
- Analytics data. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and referring site). IP addresses are anonymized.
- Information you provide. If you contact us, register for an event, donate, or sign up for updates, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, and payment details. We use this only to respond to and fulfill your request.
Cookies and your consent
When you first visit, we ask for your choice before any analytics or third-party cookies are set. If you select “Decline,” no analytics or marketing cookies are loaded. Only the small preference that records your cookie choice is stored on your device. You can clear this preference at any time through your browser settings to be asked again.
Third-party services
Some pages embed or link to services operated by others, including P3 Tips, YouTube, Eventbrite, PayPal, social media platforms, and our partner media outlets. These services have their own privacy policies, and links leaving our site are clearly identified. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate (such as payment processors and email tools), or when required by law.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide and retain it only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law.

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
