This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Homicide which took place on the Westside of Columbus.
On Saturday, November 5, 2016, at approximately 4:30am, Columbus Police officers and medics were dispatched to 713 S. Ogden Avenue, on report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 26-year old William Howard, in the front doorway of the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Mr. Howard was unresponsive and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. According to a witness, Mr. Howard had arranged to meet with an unknown person at this Ogden Avenue residence. As Mr. Howard approached this individual, who was in front of his house, it appears Mr. Howard was shot and robbed.
