This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on Thefts from Vehicles and Misuse of Credit Cards which took place in central Ohio.
On Sunday, May 20th, 2018, a theft from a motor vehicle occurred at 8:40am, at the New Albany High School located at 7600 Fodor Road, New Albany, Ohio. On the morning in question, the victim’s passenger side window was broken and a purse was stolen that was left inside. Within 15 minutes, the victim’s credit card was used at two Gahanna Kroger locations. The suspect purchased a total of $6000 worth of Visa Gift Cards. On separate occasions, it is believed the same suspect is responsible for the following: three vehicle break-ins at Rocky Fork Metro Park resulting in purchasing gift cards at two Kroger stores; using stolen credit cards to purchase over $9000 in Visa Gift Cards at other Kroger stores.
