This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Robbery that took place in Columbus.
On Sunday, November 25, 2018, at 12:00pm, a robbery took place at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 1949 Schrock Road. Suspects #1 and #2 entered the store and walked around the cashier’s counter and pointed a small black handgun at the cashier. Suspect #2 pulled out a blue bag from his pants pocket. Suspect #1 then went into the back office looking for the safe. Suspect #2 proceeded to push the cashier around and get him to open the register. Suspect #2 emptied the register of approximately $200 in cash. Suspect #2 then took several packs (approximately 6) of Marlboro Cigarettes that were on display behind the counter. Suspect #1 came back up front and demanded more cash. The cashier advised the suspects there was no more money on hand so Suspect #1 struck him on the head with the handgun. Both suspects fled the scene towards Sharon Woods Blvd. and into the Sharon Woods Apartments. Suspect #1 is described as: Male/Black, unknown age, medium skin complexion, approximately 6’2-6’4, 150-180 lbs. wearing a blue-grey striped hooded sweatshirt, red T-shirt, light colored jeans with horizontal slashes and brown timberland boots.
