This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Robbery/Kidnapping that took place in Columbus.
On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 9:30am, the 26-year-old victim was approached by the suspect while working inside an unattached garage near Goodale Park. The suspect initially asked for money and a ride then displayed a knife and demanded to be taken to an ATM. The victim was ordered into her car and the suspect drove to a bank in the area of W. Broad Street and Central Avenue. The victim was ordered to withdraw money. The suspect then drove off again with the victim. The victim was able to flee the vehicle on Sullivant Avenue and seek help. The suspect fled westbound on Sullivant Avenue near Souder Avenue, in the victim’s vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries. The stolen vehicle is a 2010 red 2-door Ford Focus, bearing Ohio license plate #FPU-1511. The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side mirror. The suspect is described as: Male/Black, 40’s, 5’10” – 6’0″, medium build, bald, lighter skin, wearing a white medical mask, black tank top, green or gray shorts, and armed with a knife.
