Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, along with the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9 and United Dairy Farmers, is pleased to recognize Franklin County SWAT Deputy Jason Meade as the recipient of the Bryan Hurst/Tony Luzio Officer of the Month Award for December. Please read details below:
On June 19, 2017, Deputy Meade was sitting surveillance while attached to the SOFAST (Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team) teams. While sitting surveillance, he noticed out of his rear view mirror that several people were arguing as they walked down the street. He then watched two of the individuals pull guns out on each other and fire several rounds. One of the suspects (the aggressor) ran toward and past Deputy Meade’s vehicle. Deputy Meade got out of his car and identified himself as law enforcement. The suspect pointed his gun towed Deputy Meade and other innocent bystanders. Deputy Meade was able to neutralize the threat. Deputy Meade put the community lives before his own.
