This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Burglary which took place in Columbus.
On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, sometime after 3pm, a residence on Newfield Road was burglarized. The victim returned home to find several items had been stolen, including a flat screen TV and man’s gold and diamond ring. A short distance away, at approximately 4:30 pm, four males entered the “Pawn Into Cash” shop located at 2177 E. Livingston Avenue, where one of the males, with a valid ID, was able to successfully pawn the stolen TV and ring, which led to his identification. Based on the current investigation, it has been revealed that the two actual suspects of the burglary approached and offered $60.00 to the two now identified males if they would sell the stolen items to the pawnshop. Both burglary suspects appear to be in their 20s, and may be bi-racial, of Hispanic decent or male blacks with light complexions. Suspect #1 has short afro hair, wearing a camo print coat and black shirt with a design on the front. Suspect #2 is wearing a black knit cap, black, gray and white striped coat, and black pants.
