On Saturday, January 7, 2017, at approximately 9:15pm, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the area of 1251 Simpson Dr. on the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim, later identified as Karim Underdown, lying in the street. Mr. Underdown had been shot several times in the chest area, and unfortunately, did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead by the responding Columbus Division of Fire Medics. Witnesses interviewed at the scene stated they saw a white Rav 4 parked next to the victim which drove northbound from the area after the shooting. The family of Mr. Underdown is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
