Homicide of Nellie “Alice” Laskey

On November 12, 1980, at approximately 7:45pm, Columbus Patrol Officers were dispatched to 75 E. Blenkner Street in regards to a female victim who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to Grant Hospital where she subsequently died from her injuries. The victim was identified as 70-year old Nellie “Alice” Laskey. Ms. Laskey had just left The 185 Club located at Mohawk and Livingston streets and was stabbed outside the front of her residence. It appears the victim was stabbed out of a robbery. Her purse was found several blocks away from the scene. A photo of Alice Laskey may be viewed on our website, www.stopcrime.org.

Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $2,000.00 for any information received by June 13, 2012, leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS (8477) or go to our website at www.stopcrime.org and e-mail your tip. You can text a tip to “CRIMES” 274637, key word CMH.

Crime Stoppers does not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller. Crime Stoppers also takes calls from persons with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
