Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, along with the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9 and United Dairy Farmers, is pleased to recognize Franklin County Deputy Robert McKee as the recipient of the Bryan Hurst/Tony Luzio Officer of the Month Award for February. Please read details below:

    Deputy Robert McKee started at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in March 1986.  He has been in the canine unit since 2001 and is currently working his 4th dog, Gator.  Deputy McKee is the 2nd longest serving member of the canine unit.  Deputy McKee has been working with the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) task force since 2012 and over the years has been responsible for helping to locate, along with his K9 partners Blek and now Gator, over 13 million dollars in illegal currency, 60 kilos of heroine, 216 kilos of cocaine, 31 kilos of methamphetamine and 13 kilos of fentanyl.   In 2019, he used his partner Gator to locate 3.5 kilos of heroine, 371 grams of cocaine, 6.9 kilos of meth and 4,000 lbs. of marijuana.  Additionally, $30,000 dollars in currency was seized as well. 
The award presentation, which will tell the rest of the story, will take place on Wednesday, February 5th, 10:30am, at the Fire Fighters Union Hall located at 379 W. Broad Street.
