This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Fatal Hit-Skip Crash that took place in Columbus.
On Thursday, March 18, 2021, around 8:00pm, a motor vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of Maize Road and Norris Drive. An unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Maize Road near Norris Drive, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian, Kylie R. Hampton, 24 of Columbus, after Ms. Hampton exited her parked vehicle. After the collision, the unknown vehicle continued to travel northbound without stopping. According to witnesses, the unknown vehicle that left the scene might be dark blue or black in color and have damage to the front of the vehicle, including a broken headlight. Ms. Hampton was transported to Ohio Health Riverside Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Ms. Hampton passed away at the hospital a short time later. The family of Kylie Hampton is partnering with Crime Stoppers and offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
