Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, along with the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9, is pleased to recognize Deputy Scott Crossley of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office as the recipient of the Bryan Hurst/Tony Luzio Officer of the Month Award for the month of October.
On August 10, 2010, Deputy Crossley was patrolling the Lincoln Village area and came across a female subject that he determined through his initial interactions, was under the influence of narcotics and unable to care for herself. Deputy Crossley placed this individual under arrest and through further investigation discovered more than $117,000 in her backpack that she was carrying. A short time later, the female subject’s husband arrived on the scene and Deputy Crossley continued his investigation. With the assistance of other deputies and a K-9, his investigation produced more than $100,000 in prescription pills seized from the husband’s vehicle and the couple’s hotel room a short distance away. This initial arrest has led to arrests in others states related to the trafficking of prescription medication.
The award presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 6th, starting between 9:45 and 10:00am, at the Fire Fighters Union Hall located at 379 W. Broad Street.
