This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Robbery that took place in Columbus.
On Friday, May 7, 2021, at 10:04am, an unidentified male entered the Dollar General store located at 1260 Demorest Road. As the register opened for the suspect to pay for candy, the suspect reached over and started grabbing money out of the register. The cashier attempted to slam the register shut and struck the suspect’s hand. The suspect then told the cashier to step away and threatened her. The cashier complied. The suspect then reached across again and took money out of the register and fled the scene. The suspect was described as: Male/White, clean shaven, brown hair and eyes, 20-30 yrs. old, wearing a bandana type mask with a design, blue jeans, brown or gray jacket, and black/white tennis shoes.
