Crime Stoppers and MOBILE Joint Effort

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and the Mid-Ohio Board for an Independent Living Environment (MOBILE) have joined in a cooperative effort to bring about community awareness concerning crimes and the victimization of senior citizens and those with disabilities.

According to research conducted by the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics, senior citizens and those with disabilities are targeted by criminals at substantially higher rates than the rest of the population. Their age and physical challenges cause them to be perceived as an easy mark by the perpetrators of frauds and violent crimes.

On Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 10:30am, Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and MOBILE, along with local representatives of law enforcement, will hold a news conference announcing this important new initiative! The press conference will take place at the MOBILE center located at 690 S. High Street.
