
On December 22, 2021 at 4am, a black 4-door sedan drove onto the parking lot of a West Jefferson business. Unknown white male exits the passenger side and approaches the business. Suspect picks up cinder block and throws it through the glass of the entry door. Suspect makes entry into the business as the alarm is tripped, and rummages through the cash register, and meat scale. Suspect picks up an iPad on the counter, and observes it is a surveillance camera monitor, drops it and flees scene. Suspect gets back into the passenger side of the vehicle, and travels westbound on US Rte. 40.
The license plate appears to be blue with white lettering and a possible temporary tag in the window.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Hilliard Police, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Upper Arlington also have similar cases with the same suspects, vehicle and method of smash and grabs to businesses.
