On January 23, 2017, at approximately 9:31pm, Columbus Police officers were called to the rear of 3710 Eakin Road, on the report of an unidentified male attempting to light a rag on fire that was inserted inside the gas tank of a blue Dodge Charger with Florida license plates. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and found two males, later identified as Caleb Killen and Jawuan Reynolds, both unresponsive. The fire was not successful and the suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The Franklin Township Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced both victims deceased at 9:41pm.
