Today’s Midweek Special focuses on a Homicide which took place in Columbus in 2016.
On May 9, 2016, Armani Anderson, along with two other individuals, was outside of 787 Weyant Avenue shooting dice for several hours. While shooting dice, one of the victims heard a car approaching and then heard several gunshots ring out. He started to run and realized he had been struck in his leg and collapsed to the ground. It is not known who was shooting at them, but several witnesses all described seeing a black 4-door vehicle speeding off after the shots rang out. Armani Anderson and one of the other victims were transported to Grant Medical Center where Armani Anderson was later pronounced deceased. The victim shot in his leg was treated for his injuries and later released. According to the detectives, at the time this homicide occurred there were over thirty people gathered around, but only a few people stayed to speak with detectives.
