This week’s “Crime of the Week” focuses on a Hit-Skip Traffic Crash which took place in Columbus.
On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 10:09pm, Alek Siitam was riding a bicycle eastbound on Livingston Avenue crossing S. Hamilton Road. At the same time a white Chevrolet extended-cab Silverado, traveling eastbound on E. Livingston Avenue, struck Alek Siitam and then fled the area northbound on S. Hamilton Road. Columbus Fire Medic 823 arrived at the crash scene and pronounced Mr. Siitam deceased at 10:11pm. The Columbus Police are currently looking for a white 1993 – 1998 Chevrolet Silverado extended-cab pick-up truck. It should have fresh front-end damage.
