This week’s “Crime of the Week†concerns an Aggravated Robbery that took place on the west side of Columbus. On Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 10:02pm, three males entered the Walgreens store located at 1280 Demorest Road and forced an employee to the ground at the front door. One of the suspects went to the pharmacy counter, grabbed the pharmacy gate as it was lowering for the night and pulled it out of the wall. The suspect then entered the pharmacy and pointed a gun at the pharmacist, demanding all the Oxycontin. The suspect handed the pharmacist a white trash bag with a yellow drawstring to which the pharmacist complied and put the Oxycontin in the bag. The suspect ordered the pharmacist to his knees before fleeing.Â

The three suspects were seen leaving in a Saturn SUV. The suspects abandoned the vehicle in an alley between Ogden and Burgess streets, south of Sullivant, and set the vehicle on fire.
