On November 5, 2012, at approximately 9:30pm, a fire was reported at an apartment building located at 4150 W. Broad St. Franklin County Deputies David Aurigemma and Teresa Devine arrived to find active fire on the third floor of the building and reports of trapped victims. Without hesitation, or regard for their own wellbeing, these officers immediately entered the building, under hazardous conditions, in an effort to evacuate the building and rescue those who were trapped. They were able to get nearly all of the occupants out prior to the fire department’s arrival. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Deputies Aurigemma and Devine and Franklin Township Officers Robert Thomas, Jason Huston, and Terry Taylor, no occupants of this building were severely injured.

Due to their courage and selfless actions, we are honored to be naming Franklin County Deputy David Aurigemma and Deputy Teresa Devine, along with Franklin Township Officers Robert Thomas, Jason Huston, and Terry Taylor our Officers of the Month for January 2013.
