Bank Robbery

On Monday, December 17, 2012, at 2:07pm, a male white, 50-60 years old, medium build, with a scruffy gray beard, wearing a navy-blue stocking hat, navy-blue hooded jacket with a thin light-colored horizontal strip across the chest, blue jeans, and tan work boots entered the Key Bank at 88 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. The suspect walked directly to the teller counter where he placed a note demanding cash. The teller removed money from the drawer and placed it on the counter. The suspect scooped up the money, fled out the front door of the bank, then walked west on the sidewalk towards High St. where the dye pack hidden in the money exploded. That same evening, the suspect, wearing a black coat over a white shirt and blue jeans, ball cap with a white design, and tan work boots, put the dye stained bills in Laundromat coin machines on the west side of Columbus. On January, 9, 2012, at 10:16am, the same suspect, now clean shaven, robbed the Fifth Third Bank located at 1349 W. 5th Ave. in Columbus. Surveillance photos from both banks and a Laundromat can be viewed on our www.stopcrime.org website.
