Leaders and residents of the Somali community will come together on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 2:00pm, to announce their unified effort in fighting crime in their community. This will take place at 4600 Northtowne Blvd., the scene of the murder of Mr. Ahmed Nur.

On Monday, February 8, 2010, at 9:48pm, Mr. Ahmed Nur and a friend were in an apartment building at 4600 Northtowne Blvd. when they were approached and robbed by two unknown suspects. During the robbery, Mr. Nur sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Riverside Hospital in very critical condition and died early the next morning. This community effort on Saturday will be directed towards the murder of Mr. Nur and all other crimes in their community.
