Video of Mark Seevers and Robert Sagle Named Officers of the Month

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, along with the Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge #9, is pleased to recognize Columbus Police Dept. Helicopter Unit Officers Mark Seevers and Robert Sagle as the recipients of the Bryan Hurst/Tony Luzio Officer of the Month Award for the month of February.

On 12/06/2009, at approximately 8:20pm, a robbery took place at the Polaris shopping center. The vehicle involved was described as a white Honda with driver’s side damage. The suspects had used the victim’s credit cards at CVS stores along N. High St. shortly after the robbery. Helicopter Unit Officers Seevers (observer), and Sagle began checking the CVS stores in the OSU campus area and then over to Morse Rd./Cleveland Ave. The Chopper went over the CVS at 161 and Maple canyon and observed a white Honda Civic with damage to the driver’s side fender parked west of the front door. At approximately 10:20PM, Officer Seevers requested a patrol car to check out the suspect vehicle and try to verify the damage and occupants with the robbery suspect info. The occupants matched the description of the robbery suspects and were detained. The victim responded and identified the male in the vehicle as the robbery suspect, and a female occupant was identified as using the victim’s credit cards at various CVS stores. Some of the stolen property was recovered from inside the vehicle. Both were charged with Robbery, and additional charges for using the credit cards are pending further investigation.

The award presentation, which will provide the “rest of the story,” will take place on Wednesday, February 3, at 10:00am, at the Fire Fighters Union Hall located at 379 W. Broad Street.
